Default Please help with repair!

I hate NY. All these dumb trucks and their rock spitting tires. A truck on the Van Wyck launched a rock the size of a baseball at my windshield this morning. (I had a court date at the DMV that I lost ) So its a great day overall, all this before 10AM!

Anyway, can anyone recommend a good windshield repair shop....(Eliot, Bill, Allen, etc)

Also, I notice some of you winshield crackers dont use the OEM windshield, but other companies....like PPG. Where can I get a windshield thats better than OEM and have it installed???

Thanks a lot for the help!

P.S. Does anyone know.....the OEM windshield turns black inside when cracked, whats that all about???

If you have glass coverage your insur. comp. may send people to fix it at your place, That's what they did for my girl friends Jeep. (insur. comp. was Geico)

Its not a crack per se yet. Its about 1.5 inch gash, and a circular chip, followed by little pieces missing. Also, its in the middle of the windshield, so I would have to always look at it. I have full glass coverage, with 0 deductable, so $$$ isnt an issue.

I had the windshield on my Odyssey replaced at Honda for $315. I thought the price was fair considering past experiences with other cars. Not worth reporting to insurance, somehow I think I'd pay more in the long run for making the report. Anyhow, so far so good with the replacement and they even re-attached my EZPASS.

Not sure...I've heard the ppg glass is much more resistant to chips and sandblasting...

Thanks for your help everyone. Eliot, I spoke to Charlie and he hooked me up with a place called STAR GLASS on Jerico. Joe is a friend of charlie's and said he'll take care of everything for me. Thanks again for referring me to him. He's been nothing but great to me from day one.
