nah, i'm not 100% set yet! I need to actually ride these bikes first. You up to looking at some more bikes this weekend? I'll bring my pedals this time!
That is true... riding them will be the deciding factor really. I might... it depends on if I have work tomorrow or not.

I'll keep you posted.

Went out for a ride yesterday in the 55 degree weather for the first time and it definitely is a little different than riding in the warmer weather. The only thing that I wore differently was that I had a winter riding jersey on, gloves, and the shoe booties that go over the shoe. From the riding yesterday, it seems that I might be able to get away riding until around 45 degrees but colder than that I think it will be a little rough... but I guess I'll find out .

Another thing I noticed... do people start becoming retarded when it starts to get cold outside? The past 2 weeks that I've gone out for a ride, I've almost gotten hit by 5 cars turning in front of me or pulling over in front of me right after passing me... ... and also many people with comments. Like yesterday, I heard someone say something like... "Hey... don't you think those shorts are a little tight?"... of course being spoken out of ignorance of knowing the purpose of those shorts cause people always seem to mock what they don't understand. Why can't they just keep their comments to themselves?

Andre,

Congrats on getting some time to go on a ride. You need to tell me when you're free one of these weekends to go for a ride. I got back on the bike this monday for the first time in over a month and a lot has changed. The temps are much cooler and I feel like im even more out of shape than i was. I went for my 6am rides with my boss and his friends, on tuesday and thursday and i got left behind on the climbs. I still don't have all the cold weather gear and am a mouth breather, so its been tough. I'm not sure how much longer i can keep riding. I WANT to ride all year round, but we'll see how that turns out on those frigid days in February and march.

I agree with you about the drivers. I was nearly hit twice in the past week. I'm still a little nervous on the faster downhills and blind corners the roads i ride on have. It's going to take a while to get back to my post crash self.

I came across this in my Bicycling Magazine while reading on the train yesterday. It's an article/list that made me laugh cause some are related to me... 108 experiences for a cyclist...

I read through maybe half of them and I applied to a good hand full of them.

thats awesome. Definitely can relate to a bunch..

So i was finally able to get a ride. I left work a little early and got in a 15 mile ride before it got too dark. As i'm cresting a little peak before the final descent to my house, i suddenly see a bunch of deer run across my path. The last deer wasn't fast enough and i clipped the back left part of his body. The deer shrieked and spun 90 degrees. I was going about 20 mph at the time and somehow was able to keep myself tire side down. The deer composed himself and ran off so he seemed like he wasn't badly hurt. Pretty scary shit!

Damn man... first your hitting old ladies in their cars and now you're hitting straggling deer at the back of a running pack?...

Almost forgot... hitting Nahuel too... LOL.

Dude... I hope we get a ride in this weekend!!!!

I used to do a little bit of BMXing back in the day in Portugal on a motorcross track... lots of fun.

The town was where my dad grew up and they built this enormous motorcross track there, so we used to go there all the time to run the course on our bikes.
