I would go w/ a Sony Grand WEGA XBR2 60" LCOS Projection TV (online of course), but at $2700 it's more than you're looking to spend?. Best PQ for the money IMO. Certainly nicer picture than a quality DLP, and much less than expensive plasmas.
What is the difference in this vs the LCD projection. is this that much better?

I know that when we were at Sears looking at appliances, my salesman told me that he was allowed to match anyone's price PLUS he'd give up 10% of the difference as well.

Bottom line: You find a $2000 TV at Best Buy and it's $2200 at Sears, you'll get it for $1980 at Sears (as long as they have the same policy for TVs).

I swear by Mitsubishi. Especially their DLP line. I can't wait till their new laser dlp comes out. It should be amazing.

The problem with price matching on many TVs or other electronics is it can be very tough to match the EXACT model number, even if feature for feature they are identical and by the same manufacturer.

I have a 52" Mitsu DLP (720P) that I have had for 3 years now and am very happy with.

I saw one of their newest 1080P sets at Sears a month ago and was amazed at the picture quality. It was heads above the Samsung, Sony, and Panasonic sets that were nearby displaying the same signal. Absolutely gorgeous.

this looks the winner so far.....

I was pretty content with the picture of our WEGA, but I guess it makes sense to spend a few more $..???

Get it at costco, and you wouldn't need to buy protection plans.

Keep in mind people that retailers are trying you to buy a TV before the superbowl, if you wait till after, the prices will be cheaper.
