I've got the same problem. Seriously thinking about getting BB gun. Won't hurt the cat long term, just enough to keep them away. My neighbor is known for her nuisance cats. The gossip around here is one neighbor left out some antifreeze one time for them. . I'm sick of paw prints on my cars. I'm not one for animal cruelty but cats are useless.
Dude, spraying my cat with water does nothing to deter that little f@*#er from walking all over my glass coffee table. I really don't think spraying them with water is gonna fix your problem. If they're on your car when you spray them your car's gonna get scratched to hell, and at best they're going to run away when they see you coming.
Just get a humane trap, take them to the shelter, and your neighbors will learn pretty much right away that they can't pull crap like this.
I'm far from being a treehugger or some s like that, but hearing about people poisoning cats, shooting them with bb guns, etc. is just cruel. Fact is, it's not the cat's fault, and the owner isn't being a responsible pet owner by letting them run loose like this. Fortunately for you, this isn't like children where it's frowned upon if you cage up the little buggers and send them off to jail.
Cats on my car - not any more. I talked to my neighbors about it to no avail. It seems everyone has a cat or three - and damn near everyone just lets them run loose. It was driving me crazy. In fact, it did drive me crazy - crazy enough to build a place to keep my S safe and sound.
It's 40x30 - just big enough for my media room above it. I'm installing my cabinetry today, as well as putting the rug on the wall to cover the window (already stapled acoustic foam in the casing). I should get the baseboards installed this week too. The window was required by building code, but big brother can't make me keep it! There's a 92" screen that lowers when I power up the projector.
I'm celebrating hitting 50 by unloading some retirement money. Believe it or not, cats were one of the reasons why this whole thing happened.
