Kill a cop, get the shit kicked out of you and later die. Sounds about right.

Steve C, couldnt have put it better myself. I geuss i'll just let my redneck opinion hang out on this one...

Mom=If your son was so "sick" why let him out of the house w/o care or a guardian?
Esteban=Killed a cop when he was only in for questioning then jumped.
Police=Did the right thing in every aspect.

What you have to understand is the fact that they (the police) only have so long to make a decision, before themselves, or a civilian is hurt. But after that decision has been made, politicians have all day/week/year to analyze and point out every small detail; bad or good.

I would just love to hear what some of you would have done, *cough* Bass *cough*

Personally, you kill my buddy, your lucky I don't kill you.

Parents can not stay with mentally ill adult children all the time and i assume they may not have had the means to hire a guardian - it's just impossible - Honestly i don't know what i would have done - i might have beat him to BUT the question remains - is it right and just?? i don't believe it is

furthermore we don't know if the suspect left the gun at the scene and was unarmed when he was apprehended

but you are 100% right 911

by your own logic they can commit him. All it takes is a doctor's order.
agree with the budget cutback but come on, so now no parent is responsible for their children's action anymore?
"budget cut" that's gonna be my excuse from now on.
but he is an adult & not a child - a parent can not have an adult son or daughter (over 18) committed UNLESS a doctor or mental health worker deems him unfit. parents can shout from the top of a mountain all day long and they can not get him institutionalized.

If my son did what he did, I would have beat him up myself.

Scum bag! Waste of oxygen.
