Tinnitus from Hypertension would usually have a pulsatile component. So check your pulse and see if the coincides with your ringing. It can be from waves transmitted from your carotid arteries. It is pretty easy to hear your carotid pulsations by anyone in a quiet room when you are trying to sleep.
A possiblility is damage from prior loud music listening in your past.
Get it checked out and if your diastolic bp is really 102, you should be working on that first and foremost.

my doctor didn't really have much to say about the cause though.....
can anyone think of a good cause? I am married so there is some ****ing stress!!!

ya, i am pissed... i do nearly everything healthy (workout, don't over eat, don't drink much, etc...) and it was 102. I am now on some stupid ****ing pills.....
