The only "SOMETIMES" fix i've found is waiting till I'm tired to go to the bed to fall asleep. The computer in the bedroom would not help this. If you lie in bed before you are tired you will only stay up later (as I have been told by doctors). Melotonin is a good natural cure, if anxiety attacks are the problem Valium was the original cure, then XANAX, many others and now PAXIL, and other drugs seem to calm the chemicals in the brain.

IMO the computer monitor does not help sleep, only prevent it. try to stop computer use at least 2 or 3 hours before trying to go to sleep. This post is problem solving from doctors advice.

If you get the chance, stay away fron the computer for 24 hours if you can, or as much time possible. If you still can't sleep you may need to consult a real doctor.

I've lived with insomina for over 8 years, as I am posting at almost 6:00am. My post is what has been told to me, it is only what will work for you that can cure any problem you may have.
There has been many good ideas thrown around in this thread

Regards,
axcilla

Get outside and wash and wax the car. If you can't sleep may as well get something done. I went through a few years where I slept fast and they were the most productive years of my life. I would go to sleep and 12/2 to 2 hours later was wide awake. I got all sorts of suff done. So if you an't beat it use it to your advantage.

Lots of good posts here Randy. I too had problems sleeping and it was due to keeping inconsistent hours. Once I started getting up at the same time and going to bed at roughly the same time it stopped. Do you try to get up at the same time everyday?

Try this site .

I personally drink the Chamomille Tea, have some boiled lotus seeds, boiled artichoke(drink the water), or the good ole' warm milk routine.

Not being able to sleep is one the worst things I've been through.

Good luck Randy.

Then again, I've also used Lorazepam and a beer when I want to sleep through an International airplane flight to the Middle East (alright... all Americans against the wall ).
