unlock it using PwnageTool or redsn0w, then get a prepaid T-Mobile SIM and go on the Sidekick $1 a day unlimited plan. I think it's unlimited data and texts.

Don't let marketing and hype cloud you.

The iPhone SIM will need to be 3G (WCDMA) compliant for it to work in 3G networks, otherwise, it reverts to standard GSM.

You guys in the US are so backwards when it comes to phones.

Okay in the event that I am not able to get a sim card, would I be able to use all of the features such as the ipod, apps, wifi, just not the phone/3G part right?

I'm pretty sure you'd still need a SIM card.

If you jailbreak the phone, you can use all features without using a SIM card, except for actual phone service. Jailbreaking is actually a simple process with moderate computer knowledge. check out sites like www.modmyi.com Very useful forum for iPhone related questions.

You can always PM me as well. I toy around with hardware & software repairs of iPhones. I have an original iPhone that I just use without a SIM for games/youtube/WIFI/iPod
