If you want your MBA to open doors, it helps to get one from a well-known school. I got mine from a state school, and let's just say it doesn't impress anybody. Of course, the education I got is invaluable.

There's another one of those words: valuable = invaluable.

It definitely depends on your field, but I find that it's not necessarily worth it if you're in a somewhat technical position - engineering, IT, etc. I've said it before and I'll say it again: experience trumps education. That said, you better have some education under your belt so that box can be checked off when companies are looking for reasons to filter you out from the competition. Once the box is checked off though, and you've held a job or two since you were in school, you'll likely never talk about it again other than to say "Yeah, I went to school and studied computers/engineering/human resources/general arts/fill-in-the-blank."

Like most others have said, it may not be a wise idea to just go back to school. Be honest to yourself and what is your reason for going back to school. If you want to accomplish something, go for it.

If it is for the money, you will need to know which field you are going into. Seeing your field is in business management, I would say it is more of an experience thing when you are looking for advancement. Sure, MBA sure looks good on your resume, but nothing beat a smart looking guy with experience.
