Althought it says "An enraged driver," does that mean the shooter was in the car, and moving? If so he might be able to scrap together a self defense argument, arguing that damage by eggs could have hindered visibility and thus hurt the driver.

IBTK and just watch, im sure somewhere along the lines we will find out the shooter is a cop. Really though, why the hell else isnt he behind bars now?

While killing someone over an egging is a little over the top, the fact of the matter is people think these days that there are no consequences to their actions. Lesson learned the hard way.
