I was just thinking about SSB by Hendrix and how much I love it. I know a lot of people think it is just distortion but I think it is great. There is another great guitarist I can't remember his name but he moved thru a couple of bands in the 80's I wanna say he was in nightranger but I'm not positive. He was along the lines of a Randy Rhodes.

gary moore, his live version of "the loner" is great. 15 mins of excellent guitar, although i cant play a lick
his "still got the blues" album has some good stuff

You should hear some of his later stuff (last five years)

He still rocks, hard.
