put up what ever kind of fence you want to look at on your property.

it will cover his fence and you both win as long as they are the same height.

he will look at his fence and you will look at yours

problem solved

Humor me dude, I'm from the People's Republik Of Kalifornia here, you guys don't have fences around your properties ? I have walls around mine. Six and a half foot tall, I wanted 9' but was shot down . Plus you need to get past a gate to get on the island first . I met my neighbors once other than maybe a nod as your waiting for the gate to open. I prefer it that way. When we bought the house I told them leave us alone and we will leave you alone. This was before I had kids, just the wife and I. I also said I don't call 911 when troubles a brewing. My aunt God bless her is a judge and has saved my a$$ many times. Now that I'm a dad the boys know to stay on our property and respect the neighbors property by not setting foot on theirs.

I guess it helps that I'm the block gun nut/ hunter. Everybody is real polite to my face

If this fvcktard builds his fence and it's on your part of the property line knock the damn thing down
if you look out my back yard I can see 15 yards worth of backyards and not even one fence. Not even a small fence. Here in PA we like open spaces. Kids play, see each other playing, etc.....

I may be making a bigger deal out of this, but out of 168 houses only 3 have found the need for a big plastic fence.

I don't go hanging out with all of my neighbors but I wave and make small talk with a fair number of them....you should try it.

who do your kids play with? We have basketball games in the street, a pile of kids on the trampoline at times, etc...... I can't imagine having a wall around my property.

I don't know much about this stuff except what happened to my grandparents years ago with a rental property . When the neighbor decided to build a fence, he got an estimate and then my grandparents that they had to paay half the cost plus it would be built right on the property line. In the end, it turns out he was right and if they didn't pay he could sue for money owed. This may be something local for where the property was though. Sorry if I'm raining bad news on you.

with a little research it turns out........ My Homeowners Association should be the one that stops this guy. I should have no expense at all. It is their job to enforce the rules and with me as their paying customer they should just do it.

Getting them to do it is another story. I talked to a local District Justice who explained how the entire thing works..... and just because someone else has a big wall fence does NOT give anyone else permission, which is basically what my neighbor is hoping. So if things go smoothly, the ASSociation will just make him stop.

It is not actually up yet, but the holes are about 1/3 done. Luckily we have lots of rock and they are having trouble digging the holes.

Wow, how different. Their friends parents don't like to send them over to my house unless they are here , given the amount of firearms I have. Apparently they feel Jr. can open my gun safes pull something out, then go over to the ammo safes find the correct ammo and clip, load the firearm and go nuts. Yes their friends parents are morons. Works for me less buttheads in my home.

My parents live nearby but not at the beach and their home sits on 3 acres. My mom has a full playground built along with a treehouse and mini garage for their motorcycles / karts. They play over there alot. Plus my dad's garage has car lifts so I work on my cars while my sons play. For me controlled space rocks.

I have never been the chat w/neighbors type. I prefer my privacy .My wife has been trying for years to make me human, she has failed so far We are going thru a heat wave here and lost power for awhile, I love my comfort so a few years ago I installed a generator that runs on my natural gas line. Fired that bad boy up and all was well. It was weird to look out and see neighbors talking to each other. They kept looking at my home most likely thinking why does that fool have lights. Plan ahead next time suckers.
holy shit, i don't think i would let my kids in your house either. You sound like a postal worker.

here in the sticks the kids actually ride bikes together, jump on trampolines, play kickball, etc.. some evenings.... I couldn't imagine having the kids confined to a walled space.

What do you do if the ball or frisbee goes into someone else's walled space? Maybe people don't play with balls or frisbee's out there?

You are missing out.... sell that shithole and move to PA......where the Sheep are scared...

Seriously, just deal with it. You say you can't put up with staring at a fence, but if he made the fence shorter to comply with your standards, you'd still be staring at a damn fence.

It seems as if he is putting up the fence no matter what you say. You are just going to be wasting your time and his going to court over this matter. To me, it just sounds like something else is really bothering you and you are focusing your frustration at this issue. It happens all the time in my neighborhood. Bad day at work + satellite dish/fence/basketball hoop neighbor is putting up-->fighting/lawsuit/wasted time.

Besides, a fence just means more separation between the two of you--which gives you more time to enjoy your NSX in peace.
