I loved talking to the idiots who claimed the world was going to end on 1/1/00, but refused to give me all their money in December '99. Their faith didn't last long when it came to parting with their dollars, that's for sure.
I love reading the "faithless" comments. Organized religion is just that, Organized by man. Hence the constant ridicule and judgement of the Christian establishment as it is summed up as a whole. They deserve the riducule...After all, if your going to judge, than expect to be judged!
In the United States, we exercise our freedom of speech in a negative banter in order to show our streangth. However, if we had Faith in God, meaning a personal relationship and not one that is based on judging others (thats Gods job) we would not be so quick to speak out as we would have faith in the outcome.
The original question was what would we ask Jesus. I for one would ask nothing. I would bow in his presence and thank him for eternal life.
The way I see it, my Faith is a personal relationship based faith. Not a faith to judge others. This has been the major downfall in our Country.
It's amazing to me that we spend billions on insurance in this country., however, when it comes to the insurance of eternal life , we turn our back. What do I have to lose for believing other than listening to a few naysayers? Does this mean that I agree with everything the religious right has to say? Absolutely not, once again, it's a personal relationship not a public one.
For those who discount me, or think I'm off the wall, believe it or not I respect your right not to believe as much as I respect your right to believe. I would sit and enjoy a drink with you and shoot the bull about cars all night long.
Hopefully you all can catch my drift here..........

To those of no religious orientation, how can you not believe in anything? Faith in something more is what keeps me going through all of this.. I don't know what happens next, but I've gotta believe in something, I couldn't live if I didn't.. I pray to Jesus, I talk to Jesus, and I "try" and follow his teachings.. And even if I'm wrong.. well.. I'm not hurting anyone anyway, beyond if you think if He was the Son of God or not, there are valuable lessons to be learned in The Bible that we should all implement in our daily lives.. Do I sometimes lose faith? Ya, there are times, but for the mostpart, He's the one I turn to when I need it.. I find a comfort in that..
I think we are just in a society where people have to "see" things to believe them.. not totally absurd, but c'mon, have some faith... in something..
Anyways, I would first thank Him as people mentioned.. I don't think I'd ask a question, if I saw him, I just wouldn't feel alone and I wouldn't be afraid of dying.. that would be enough for me.

Jesus Christ is still Jesus

The notion that otherwise intelligent people could so blindly follow a contradictory document like the bible amazes me. Still, in some sense I am relieved that some people are so easily deceived; all the better for me to start a cult of my own and steal money from the morons as the Christian church has done so well for so long.
Steve C, everyone has the right to believe what they wanna believe, follow whichever God they wanna follow, or not follow a God at all, but you don't have to demean and patronize those who believe, just like you wouldn't like others to patronize you for your stance.
You have a child correct? Tell me that in itself is not a miracle.. Well, anyways, I hope that you let your child make his/her own decisions as she goes on in life.. too many people just following what their parents instilled in them without havin a mind of their own.

My child is not a miracle, I had sex with my wife, yadda yadda out came the kid. She has a catholic spanish mother and will be exposed to a multitude of religions as I believe everyone should have exposure and choose for themselves.
All of this aside I do not wish to insult (any more than I have already done) any religious folks. You have the right to believe whatever you wish to believe.

what about this...
say my parents named me Jesus..
now, i decide to go around and tell people i am god. if i came to you on the street and said "hey, i'm god" what would you do? fall on your knees and cry? or look at my like i was high on crack or something and just walk on by?
im sure many people claim they are god, but do you believe any of them?
i dont care about religion and who believes in what, just dont tell me what to believe in.
so, if 'Jesus" was standing in front of me telling me he was god.. i'd probably say "shut the fvck up you crazy moron."

I agree with Steve C as well. Jesus WAS an actual being, but he is nothing more than a dead former human being now.
Jesus may be the savior to about 34% of the world's population, but Walmart is the no 1 choice for shopping americans, and walking around a walmart on a sunday afternoon will verify that the popular choice is not necessarily the perspicacious one.
Yes there are unknowns in this universe, yes there are things that we will never know, understand, or even possbily begin to comprehend. To think that people actually believe that the uneducated, primitive people of 2000 years ago had all the answers WITHOUT THOUGHT OR QUESTION just boggles my mind!
