I remember back in the 6th grade some years ago they tried to sell us on the idea that Europe and Asia should now be called "Eurasia". I wasn't buying then and I'm not now.
I remember that. That was dumb, i don't know what they were thinking.

The question was answered in post #2 and the thread has since become quite lame. Glad I could help with that.

Keep in mind there's a lot of Russia that's not in Asia. "Eurasia," maybe.
The US govt doesn't consider Russians Asian.
I don't think the general consensus of the US populace considers Russians Asians. But I can't say that for certain.
My Russian friend, who moved here when she was 16, doesn't like it when I call her Asian.

Some of my acquaintences don't like it when I call them idiots (or, at least, wouldn't if they knew I did). That doesn't mean that they aren't.

True. Guess it depends on what you mean when you say "Asian." Do you mean "person from the continent of Asia?" Or do you mean "somebody of Asian race (as defined by the OMB?)" Or do you mean "the image that comes to mind most commonly for an American when thinking of an Asian person?" 'Cause the three are, obviously, different meanings of the same word.

Um, no.

Iceland is generally considered to be part of Europe.
