Majored in Accounting (MS) like Cykogirl, passed the CPA exam and now working as a compliance officer at a full serivce broker dealer. I am working on getting my Series 27, 7, 55 and 24 licenses as well. I have more securities industry experience than accounting. I am not sure if I am ever going to go back into public accounting full time.

Undergrad majors: acting & marketing
Went straight into grad school in advertising.

I finish next week and start the job search immediately. We'll see what happens.

No, I work in the communications field for the Navy and am currently studying Criminal Justice although you could say the military in a way is law enforcement. That could soon change, I take the entrance exam for the Washington State Patrol on Saturday. Now that I think about it my Mom works in a completely unrelated industry. She is a senior anaylst for E-Trade but has a Bachelor's in food science.

Yup. Or at any rate, pretty closely related.

I graduated with a computer engineering major, and I'm currently a software developer.

I guess people just their minds about what they like to do as they go through life. In my case, I change my mind in college - I actually started as an electrical engineer.

Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) and I'm working in my field. I may leave it within the next few years though - start my own business that may require (at best) a minimal amount of mechanical engineering. We'll see.

I got my BS in biochemistry and that didn't make me very good money...

I now work as a computer programmer and make so-so money...

I'm about halfway through my MBA, which will hopefully make me better money...

I learned long ago that I have no ambitions whatsoever to do anything great in life, and mostly just want to kick back and enjoy, so now I'm trying to be the laziest money whore alive. Whatever field the money goes to is where I will follow, I only wish I knew all this before I chose an undergrad major.

B.S. Computer Science
Work: Systems Analyst/programmer

Although I have decided that computers are not a good job, knowing how to program them and manipulate data quickly allows you to do your job more efficiently

I believe I read somewhere that you will change careers 7 times in your life. Your college degree typically doesn't teach you what you need to know to do a job, rather, it teaches you how to learn something. Making yourself much more valuable and flexible in the workforce.

my 2 cents
