Actually that is odd... where are the component inputs that it lists in the specs?

edit - on closer examination I bet they're behind that other vertical panel that is just above the composite / s-video input... or maybe even on the back, running up the left side (if looking at it from the front), there is a set of cables running into that side of it too.

BTW, when you saw the boxes they come in, do you think one would fit in the S2000 front seat (top down)?

Hey X: you're kidding right?

I'll take a picture of my recent buy so you can get a better perspective.
hold on... (where's my camera)

It's basically a weird effect where you're viewing a DLP, and you get a hazy multicoloured (almost holographic) feel to the screen. It makes you feel a bit dizzy, and just distorts the picture.

I mostly noticed it in heavy nature scenes, with a lot of green.
Apparently a very small percentage of the population sees this. But that's too much for me. Even if it works for me, I don't want guests barfing on the floor.

I've not heard of this. What is it?
Dave,

DLP uses hundreds of thousands of tiny mirrors on a chip. These mirrors tilt and the light passes through a colour wheel. As the light passes though this wheel a rainbow effect is projectored...some people notice it, others don't. Some even get headaches from watching tv with this problem.

LCD suffer from vertical banding - a vertical band is projected on the screen at evenly spaced intervals.

A great site for this type of stuff is www.projectorcentral.com

Thanks guys, for the explanation. Do people see this effect on an LCD computer monitor? I've never seen it on mine, so would this correlate to an LCD TV?

The manufacturers are getting really good at weeding this out as it is lcd panel defect. That said, a front projector my still show this at larger image sizes (I have one and notice it occasionally on a white picture), I doubt that you would see it on a smaller screen. When you go in look for a white scene then look for the banding (although I doubt you'll see it on a 32" screen). It will look like faint black line evenly spaced across the screen.

Bobby, thanks for the picture. I guess I can get one of these things home in my car.
Magnavox doesn't seem to be a very easily sourced make in Canada. Even their parent company Phillips is not wide spread, so I can't find much info on pricing for what you have. I've seen that wall mount at our "Soundsaround" store. Didn't notice the price, though. How much did you pay and how much weight can it hold?

I don't notice the vertical banding on LCD's myself, I've always found them to be exceptionally crisp and clear (assuming you have a good LCD panel).

BTW, my HD receiver/sat kit barely fit in my passanger seat when I took them home (top down)... I even ended up scratching up my dash permenantely doing it. And that box it came in definitely isn't as large as the one Bobby shows

X, I bought the mount and tv here.
They had a sale recently and I was able to get 20% discount coz I bought the
tv from them. (talk about repeat business)
The rating for this mount is for 80 lbs which is plenty for a tv that weighs 30.8 lbs.

Costco here carries the Phillips, AKAI and Panasonic brands but sometimes they
loose business due to other store's competitive pricing.

BTW, that Magellan GPS is also nice.
