u can use the add a circuit to do that with a switch attach to the middle of the wire where ever u want.
but u will need to attach the circuit underneath the driver dash fuse panel, there is instructions of how the power goes to to, normally u attach to the 12v power out put ignition, so it won't be constantly on, only when the car is on.

or u can also do a directly to ur light fuse, that way u can do with out a switch , just turn on when ever u turn on ur light, u can choose from ur headlight or the drl.

FWIW, I wired my own footwell lights back when I first got my car (before js2k was even around). I wired mine to turn on when my headlights are on, I added a switch so that I could turn them off if I wanted to and honestly I've never touched the switch since installing it.

i would like the lights to turn on with the normal dome lights (unlock the car, open the door). i would also like to add a switch so if the car is running i can turn the lights on without having to open the door.

i was telling my friend about it today and he did something in like 5 seconds. he said he tapped into the door sensor? now they turn on whenever i open the door and unlock the car like i wanted, but would it be possible to add a switch? do i still need a relay?

I simply ran a wire up to the dome light and attached to the right map light. My led foot lights come on when the doors are opened or if I turn on the right map light when in the car. Ran the wire down the right windshield cover and under the dash.

If you connect to these you should make sure you have an inline fuse as they are capable of delivering
quite high current.
^ This help me a lot this weekend while installing projector fog lights and LED lighted switches. THANK YOU.
