Default Amp mount question

To complete my nice little setup I picked up an
Alpine MRV-F540 V12 amp. I also picked up a JL Audio stealth Box for my 2002.

I wanted some opinions about where I should mount this?
I was thinking of taking out the spare tire and mount it there.
I also was thinking of just mounting it on the removable cover that would normally cover the tools.
Any ideas?! Thanks for any links, pics or ideas.

Most with the stealthbox have mounted their amp in the spare tire compartment. Here is a picture of louie's.

Here is another in the same place. This time the picuture is from iLikeBeer.

Hope this helps.

Seminole2001:

I would like to do exactly the same thing you did with your amp, but I have seen no details on how you a) mounted the amp to what I presume to be MDF, and b) how to mount the MDF to the car. How did you do it? Detailed pictures would GREATLY be appreciated.

Also, are those the crossovers for the front speakers on the left side of the trunk?

Looks GREAT!

I wanted to mount my amp like Seminole2001 but the JL 450/4 and 500/5 is too long to mount it like that. Currently my mount is crappy but functional.

I'm considering relocating amp to the spare tire well (like PAS2KNut posted) but I'm not sold on the idea of being without a spare.

I've also seen the amp mounted over the stealth box but I'm definitely not to thrilled with that mount given the vibration of the sub and the fact that I like to put golf clubs in the trunk

Anyone else have suggestions for an 19.7" x 9.25" x 2.36" amp?

Take a look at the thread I started just recently, Vertical Mounting of Amp In Trunk for options regarding vertically mounted amps in the trunk of our S2000s. I have received a few really good ideas on how to do it.
