Jetpuke, I looked at the dimensions and it seems like it would fit under the seat with the cover off without any problems. Did you try that or just decide to go with the spare time system?

I had no problems mounting this RF Punch 45 under my seat...It did not stick out much, but limited the seat travel a bit. here is a pic:

You can check the dimensions on the RF website. BTW, I would make you a good deal on this amp if interested...I just put in a stealthbox and JL 300/4. This amp has plenty of power for a set of front seperates and is an easy install. I bought it new and installed in my wifes camry....it has very little use and is in excellent shape. PM me if interested.

GeorgeP,

I just left the cover on and put it in the spare tire without checking under the seat. I even use the space under that seat..... for maps etc.

Now I will find out if it will take the heat as a class T. Quite the test as I put foam all around it, to keep it from shifting around. I can still use my spare with about 10 seconds more work, is all. I'll let you know if I get any problems with it, thanks for the suggestion.

It has a variable gain control and as long as you don't tell it to really crank, it should not get too hot. I hope.

I don't think you will have a heat problem back there. There is plenty of room above the tire. I went to order the amp yesterday from a web site for 180.00 but when I asked if they were an authorized dealer they said only that they provide the warrenty not Bluapunkt. I will probably just order it from Crutchfield for 249 and get the Polk speakers to go with it. I will take a closer look at the tire. Might be the way to go. It would be very easy to cut a small mount out of MFD and bolt the amp to it and drop it in the tire.

i would look at building a small rack or board mount and installing the amp above the gas tank accessible from the trunk to the left of the spare tire. plenty of room. Since there is no convienent glove box i store alot of things under the seats and limiting seat movement is definitely a bummer! i think wlaurent is in the prototype stage for a nice rack 4 that location.

Hi,

I am wondering how you actually mounted/fixed the Blaupunkt amp under the passenger seat? I suppose you did not simply srew into the body of the car, did you?

Should have been able to figure that one out myself.

Thanks for the answer!
