Amp wiring questions

OK thanx all that makes sense now about the mono and stereo that is what I was talking about, as for the sub, shouldnt i got positive, to both positives on the sub, and negative to both negatives on the sub

Put simply, NO!

When you bridge 2 channels of an amp that is of a design that can be bridged like your Alpine can, you effectively make the 2 channels into one channel with twice the power. Doing it as you mention would only sum (mix) the channels signals together rather than the one adding to the other. Plus that is not a good way to sum together and could be hazardous to your amp.

Ok, my fault. I read that wrong. I replaced sub in a couple places with amp in my mind. Tell us what sub you are using and we can tell you how to hook it up. Your sub could have anywhere from 1 to 4 voice coils and voice coils come in many different ohm rating. Just need to make sure that your final ohms is no lower than 4. The first diagram is for a 2 ohm final load and the second is for an 8 ohm final load.
