I’m curious, what model is your Joying head unit. I’m wonder if the newer head unit (JY-HQS01N4G-1 and JY-HQS01N4G-2) still has those problems?
I have a JY-HQS01N4G-2.

I was thinking of rewiring the radio to constant power to see if that would fix the time problem. But then I'd need to manually put it in standby every time I turn the car off.

GPS antenna doesn't do s**t.

I think if you rewire to constant on that will work.

I have the older model JY-HOS01P4 and there was in settings to either have the radio on standby or completely shut down after ignition is switched off. However, even on standby it would shutdown completely after 5-6 hours and the clock was messed up again without internet.

Android question: Has anyone tried the app "Hotspot Automatic" (or similar) to automatically turn on your phone's hotspot when you get near the car? The idea is that the app detects when your phone is near the Joying's bluetooth signal and switches on the phone's hotspot, so the Joying will then automatically have a wifi signal. The app works as far as announcing it has detected the car and is switching on the hotspot -but then it does not turn it on. I don't know if this is a phone security issue or a problem with the app.

Anyone tried installing this firmware update? I know the previous firmware update was breaking Google accounts, was wondering if this one has fixed that issue (it says "updated Google agreement," whatever that means)
Following is the updated file (2021-7-5) for Android 10.0 Car Stereo.

Improved feature:

*Improve the head unit EQ

*Improve the car-link function

*Improve the canbus agreement

*Update the Google agreement

*Improve the touch screen problem

Which harness did you get?

Was it this one?

I tried to order the harness from Joying and they wrote me back and told me they did not carry the correct harness for an S2000 (this was about a year ago). I ended up ordering this one. It worked fine except you do need to move one of the pins (I forget which one, but it's in this thread somewhere - I THINK it was pin 14)

finally updated my firmware - WARNING! I didn't realize this would reset the radio back to factory - I lost my entire setup! Be sure to backup before you update.

whoa - with the new firmware update Android auto finally works wirelesly (links to my phone right when I start the car) and also works with hands-free Google voice dialing. That's a huge upgrade.

Running Android 11 on my phone and the 5/26 firmware update on the Joying (Android 10 version). YMMV.

If you are running a separate amp and want the mute button to work you can try tting a relay to your remote wire to break the amp turn on. It may not work if you have any turn on/off pop though.
