To anyone with a sub in the trunk
I'm about to put two 10" JL Audio subs in the trunk. My concern is whether or not I will be able to hear them. Can anyone with a similar setup comment on how well the bass passes through to the passenger area? Thanks.
I just had 2 10" MTX 6000 series subs flush mounted in the trunk "hole" They sound pretty good. But a lot depends on the type of music. Some stuff sounds "delayed" and muddy. Others are clean and crisp. However, the main problem with my setup is that I
STILL HAVE THAT CHEAP HONDA HEADUNIT! lol
Am waiting for that awesome Alpine CDA-7878 to be released in about a week. Check it out

I mounted MB Quarts up front, with the tweeters stealth mounted in the a/c vents. Works great, and hasn't affected the a/c flow that I can tell. (But who has the top up anyway) It also helps direct the highs, to a degree. In the trunk I have a Sounstream 4x150 mounted on the forward wall, next to the spare tire protrusion.
All in all, it sounds GREAT on the highway. And that's with the stock head. No distortion.

Ditto. This isn't a good audiophile car, but you can still obtain plenty of volume out of it. I have two JL 10w3-d2 wired for a two ohm load. My one recommendation, is that you need a large amplifier. At least 500 watts RMS or you are wasting your time.
I've got an 8" Bazooka Tube in the trunk well and it sounds great. It's being run by an Alpine V12 amp, which also runs the
two MB quartz I have up front. With an added amp, you can
adjust the sound/gain levels/etc.. to your liking. I'm still using the
stock head unit and have no plans to change right now. Someday
I might change it.
