Audio gurus...Need your help
Hey guys.
I recently acquired an Eclipse CD4000, and everything is working great...EXCEPT the pre-outs. This particular receiver has three sets of them, and via a voltage meter check, they are not pushing a signal at all. So my amp has power, but is not getting a signal from the receiver for sound...so the sub is not working.
I've searched the internet and through the owners manual, and I can not find a solution to the problem.
Thoughts or ideas on what this could be?

eclipse do not have a feature to turn off pre-outs, My Cd8455 never had such problems and as far as I know never had a feature that I seen where it was able3 to turn off. the Eclipse I have is for sale if interested(not to thread jack)
Is the headunit producing sound through the speaker outputs, just not
through the RCA (preamp) outputs?
A few things to confirm -
- volume knob is not turned all the way down
- output is not muted
- you are measuring AC voltage, not DC, in the proper range (fraction of a volt
to a few volts)

And we did measure AC voltage.
