Best radar detector ?
I think the V1's performance is good enough to never make me wonder what better radar detectors are out there.
If you need a radar detector to do more than detect all kinds of radar and tell you where they are, then there may be better choices.

Because:
1. The sensitivity on the Passport was not signicantly less than the V1.
2. The "arrow" feature doesn't have any value to me. I don't have enough time in an alarm event to care from where the signal is coming. I'm busy downshifting as fast and as far down as I can to slow without illuminating my brake lights.
3. There are no other usefull features that justify the additional cost in my view.
4. All of my friends that used them are good references and they liked it too. That's not to say that my friends that don't use it are not good judges of value.

1. The handling of the Miata was not signicantly less than the S2000.
2. The "VTEC" feature doesn't have any value to me. I don't have enough time in a track event to care from where the extra power is coming. I'm busy downshifting as fast and as far down as I can to slow without getting passed.

But we all know why we all drive S2000's.
rx65 i boughgt off ebay and its legit, never had as ingle problem except for the speaker blowing out about a year after gettign due to me having the volume all the way up since day one.
i got a new speaker from beltronics for $7 shipped and soldered it in, took 5 minutes.
**** a v1, really, i got this thing for $235 shipped and i've never had a problem with it, ever.
