Cutting basket for door speakers (62.9i's)
I'm currently going to swap my old crappy stock '01 speakers for some Infinity Kappa 62.9i's. I know I need to cut the back of the basket to make room, but do I need to protect the speaker/magnet from moisture in any way on the back as the back of the basket is no longer there to protect it? As well, do any of you know if the Kappa 62.9's need a spacer/fitment kit to install it in the door? It doesn't seem to have holes which match up with the basket holes.
