so, you ordered an e8a? if you're looking to get William's box (WLaurent), you may want to PM him first... and i'm not sure that you'd be able to fit this sub in the footwell. it's small and the enclosure requirements are small, but it is also quite deep and has a great deal of excursion, so grills are tough to find.
if you put it in the footwell, you'd lose more legroom than for other 8"s, and you'd have to custom fabricate a grill cover that could protect the sub and deal w/ it's excursion. of course, if you put it in the footwell, you'd be custom fabricating everything anyway...
and i think it was Major Havoc who had a 12" in his passenger footwell.

if you're having problems w/ rattling, what do you currently have in the trunk? do i remember correctly that you have stealthbox? and what did you try to eliminate rattling?

talk about poor planning on my part, every time i go to take the box out, it's like a 3-d puzzle to put it back together again!

Wow. Thanks for the review. I dragged the 500D off the shelf last night and figured out where I'm going to mount it. I'll hopefully get it wired up by the weekend in preparation.

the volume is good, maybe i'm to self-conscious but even at these low volumes I feel like it's thumping too hard (people staring etc). i don't **need** that kind of attention. it's probably in my head, when i get out of the car it's not that loud, but it sounds loud in the car.

one thing i haven't mentioned, at the moment, this sub does not shake/vibrate the car. so you really don't feel it in your butt or seat as much. maybe this will change if i up the volume levels, but right now it's not a seat massager sub.

no fans for the false floor, the kicker amp runs very cool, the hifonics a little warmer. we'll see when the summer comes.

sc_highlander, i think that 500d will be perfect, in a convertible you might need a little extra volume and you don't want to overdrive the amp.

Still no "GOOD" solution on the grill issue. I have a new idea, but it will take me a few days to get it put together.

In any case - I will be shipping 2 subs and enclosures today (I will PM you guys with the tracking info). Many thanks for your patience.

i have the same sub that comes in the stealthbox (10w3v2), but its in a box and takes up too much trunk space. and i do like the look of wlaurent's box but like i stated before the rattleing is too much, even w/ the sub on low. my panels have been roughed up too much. but i may still get wlaurents box and take out all the panels and get some custom fab leather back there as a cover, replacing the plastic panels.
