william, when can I order this? I can't wait, you need to hurry up
I have not been able catch up with - catching up at work following 3 weeks of vacation makes you not want to take vacation again.
it came yesterday. i've only spent about an hour listening to it, but here are my initial impressions while comparing it to the e8A. both are running at a 2 ohm load (4 ohm DVC in parallel), and both were getting about 450 Wrms.
1. output: the e10k is a stronger sub for raw output. noticably stronger... like, i'm suddenly thinking bad thoughts about my e8A.
still, it does not seem to have the low end extension of the e8A. the e8A still has more or comparable output at very low frequencies.
2. musicality: the e10k has a pretty good musical feel to it. i only ran a few songs through it, and regretfully was rushed while doing it. but it does blend very nicely into music without excessive booming or such. imo though, the e8A is probably slightly more musical. there were just a few segments of music where the e10k became a noticable 'sub' in the situation and where the e8A blended right into the overall sound.
i'm going to do much more listening to this sub, but given that they can be acquired and that the build quality is good -- i'd have no problems recommending this sub as a good space conserving option.
i'll also be trying to compare it to other subs as i have opportunities.

(i hope Jim doesn't mind me speaking for him...)
he expressed to me that he felt they were comparable in many ways... including both output and sound quality.

That said, I think the alpha hits just a bit harder, and the sq is a tad bit better. Although I agree with Philip that this is a great option for those looking to conserve space and get a nice sounding sub.

he needs to order it so he can give me back my box! where u at man, pick up your phone! haha...
