Drilling wasn't hard at all. I just used a 1 1/2" hole saw and a knife to widen it out a little more. The cut isn't perfect but the way the tweeters are made they have a trim ring that covers up everything.
I didn't take any special precautions before drilling. I drilled from the visible side of the door.

Hey mikes2k, your tweeter install looks ideal. Can you give some more info on where you got/made the enclosures? I was going to put them on brackets sticking out from the front of the door handle cup, but I like the idea/look of a small enclosure much better. Thanks in advance!
