Default Help with rsx sub!

Hi all... Im getting an rsx sub sent to me. My question is... how does it install? Im assuming 2 line imputs (+ and -) and a power lead (remote also?). I was wondering if its possible to splice rca lines to the signal leads and plug them into the back of my alpine 7893, so i can use the independant sub woofer controls. any thoughts?

In the future you might try doing a search before starting a new thread. I know I started a rather detailed thread about it over a year ago.

thanks. quick question. if the orange wire is the 12v lead, doesnt it drain the battery when the car's off? since there is no rem. hookup? My sony amp (for front speakers) are wired directly from the battery, and has a rem line to shut off the amp when the HU powers off. I suppose then, that I cannont use this same 12v lead?

Can you give me some instructions on how you hooked up the switched relay to the bose sub?

I hooked mine up without one, (the unit was supposed to have an autosensing power ON, when music was detected) but it doesn't work on mine and drains the battery.

Thanks

I don't believe there is a sensor built in.

Here is the wiring I used. I bought a 12V 30A automotive switch relay from Radio Shack.

#30 - Constant 12V (+) Always live
#86 - Ground
#85 - Remote Amp Turn on from Receiver (Switches the relay on and off, allowing the juice from #30 to go to #87) Your HU needs to have an Amp Turn on lead.
#87 - Juice to Bose Amp.

I also put an inline 10A or 15A fuse in the 12V line.

Don't know the stock HU's wiring. You can get a 12V line from tapping into the stock HU's line, the fuse box or the battery.

Here is a link to MacGyver's website which shows the wiring harness for the stock HU. I think you would tap into line 1 for the remote turn on.
