How did you upgrade?
Everyone knows the stock system is weak. I want a little more, but don't want to break the bank.
How did you upgrade at a reasonable cost? Is it possible to get better sound w/o an amp?

I've been researching these questions for a month or so now...
What I've been told is to get rear speakers if I want to spend very little and improve the sound...
Otherwise, if you add components or a sub, you will need to add an amp...again, this is all what I've been told...

I do not think you can go wrong with the Lucid's rear speaker kit. The kit allows you to use the un-used rear fader. I was able to install it in about 40 minutes. I am very happy with it. Good luck
First thing I did when I got my S2k was buy Lucid's CLOSEOUT SPECIAL of 4" Polks for the rear (they are still available, btw). Improvement? Yes. Great improvement? No. It was a cheap upgrade and I have no regrets. Seriously, the more I drive, the more I prefer to listen to the engine anyway. Now that I have a CAI to install, I'm certain that desire to listen to radio VTEC will only increase. That said, in retrospect, I should have bought something with a little more low freq output. My mids/highs sound great but the bottom end just isn't very inspiring.
