For our next discussion, I think we should find someone who thinks the OEM Bose systems are better than any aftermarket products!
Aren't they?

Just kidding...though my Acura sure beat the hell out of the S2000's factory system.

This has been discussed before... you can not make a crappy unit any better than it already is, you can only make it worse. You have one set of specs to work with and that's all... kind of like claiming "This wand will turn this pile of cow dung into gold!"
reread your post.

you are not being clear about what is crappy and what is good. how is that an answer to the original posters question. he did not ask "can u make a crappy unit better?" he is asking if anyone has heard it. im sure he is trying to find out if ithe unit makes the factory radio sound good. not if the signal is good, he cant even hear difference of the degration of the signal. you answered his question by saying the signal sucks. wtf kind of answer is that. tell me how you answered his queston by attacking it with an answer of bad signal.

with your "this wand will turn this pile of cow dung into gold"
you can easily put and optical output into a factory radio and boom, the best signal.
what beats optical output in a car unit? do you agree? if you somehow dont agree, you are the biggest bullshitter in the world and spread nothing but misinformation. so there is the your answer, you can wave a wand and make the pile of cow dung into gold.

if you are up for a challenge, basically, i use stock radio and you use aftermarket radio.

i will use stock radio and a 30band eq, you can use an aftermarket radio in the same price range as the eq. we will use same car, same speakers same everything. the only difference in the units.

then we will have, say... 100 people jump in and listen to the car. blindfolded of course. the end result will be which sounds better. the one with the better sounding setup will take the $1000.

if you agree, i will write up the rules. i will then have you overlook the rules and if you disagree on something we can try to find a solution.

umm...

for the OP -- again, don't bother with the soundsweep. by the time you've bought it, installed it, and tuned it, you could have a nice aftermarket unit with more power and an equivalent or better sound than the OEM setup w/ a soundsweep.

<chuckle> Sorry about that... didn't quite mean it that way. What I MEANT to say (why not, the REST of my words have been misconstrued, right?) was "That's why I'm happy to let Phil, Dave, John, etc. deal with the install and component choice side of things".

Besides, Phil, I can't afford those Prada and Gucci handbags you keep begging for

but Sugar-Daddy-Dan, all the other kept guys have Macintosh amps... i wanta Macintosh amp....

Is it me or has the electronics forum turned into a hugh pissing match as of late... I'm almost to the point of not coming here anymore. This forum has just been over run with morons that like to argue lately...

2 people have made it to my Ignore list in the past week...

it does seem like a number of people have gotten sand in their man-ginas of late...

this whole thread tho? i'm just not getting why there is an argument at all... both guys are saying virtually the same thing, from slightly different perspectives, and agree completely on the solution (stock unit needs to be 'fixed', but a new HU is cheaper and better).

i just don't get it... i've tried to play peacemaker, but now -- i'm finding sand in my man-gina...
