Thumbs up Modifry wiring question

Hey guys,

I'm getting ready to install a new headunit (this one), I've got the modifry adapter/harness, and the head unit itself should come tomorrow. I've searched for modifry installs, but I haven't been able to find a picture guide of how to hook up everything besides the manual (I'm a very visual person).

I made the diagram below of how I think it will work, but i'm not sure about what to do with the bulk of the wires coming from the modifry adapter - will the head unit come with a cable that you solder the wires into? If anyone has a few pictures of how everything works, that would be awesome.

Thanks,
Tommy

the new headunit will come with a harness that plugs into the back of
the headunit, and has wires which you'll splice to all those wires labeled
"other wires" on your diagram. The colors are standardized, so likely
it will involve simply matching by color, though you should verify with the
actual function of each wire with the install instructions to confirm.

I'm confused, if you bought the MODIFRY Adapter it should be a plug and play no cutting.
I bought both and no cutting involved
???????????????
Sorry no pics

Modifry only makes a plug&play harness for Alpine. For other headunits
you need to splice his adapter harness to the headunit's harness.

Right, I bought a Pioneer headunit, so I couldn't use the plug & play adapter sadly.

I installed it today with not too much fuss. However the modifry adapter only partially seems to work

I have this headunit ( http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Pro...yers/DEH-P400UB ) - which has the remote jack for the wired dci. However, the only controls that seem to work are the channel button for switching between stations, and the mode+volume knob for switching stations. Otherwise the mute & volume controls don't work at all...any ideas as to what the problem might be?

Thanks,
Tommy

I would say send Bob an e-mail. Let him know about your problem. I had a problem with the DCI for my Alpine unit so i sent it back and he e-mailed me back telling me that there was another one on the way. Good guy!
