^^Bezactly. It's spooky, when you're used to being constantly notified of their presence. Ooohhhh...a Ghost Radar, dum dum dum... HPH

 

I drive by one of these signs all the time. This one is permanently mounted on a utility pole. 90% of the time my V1 goes crazy, but every once in a while it's silent as a mouse. It's the same sign in the exact same spot each time, but the detector doesn't always go off. Very strange.

 

do these things take pictures or anything if you are speeding or is it just a warning to let you know?

 

I've never heard of one of these things taking a picture. In my experience usually when there's photo equipped radar in the area there's a sign informing you of it.
