I've always wondered... I've seen people cut full sized monitors into the dash as well as installing aftermarket standalones in cupholders as shown in this thread, but I've yet to see this alternative:

Cut a 1-DIN slot in the dash instead of a full size monitor to install flip-up units like Alpines and the N2s. It's a bit less conspicuous and it doesn't quite shout out "STEAL ME!" as much as the monitor installs.

^^ Am I missing something? I'm going to do a little research and see if I can't do it myself. If I'm not exactly Christopher Columbus, let's see some pics!

It has been done before. Search for posts by the screen name Shaner. I am not sure if he even has the car anymore, but I believe he was the first to do it. It looks good but IMO a little out of place.

The best install IMO was one sliding screen mechanism coming out from the center air ventilation ducts.
