it doesn't add much quality to the mix, it just more a tad more bass and louder.
i used to have a rear speakers set up too, had it for a while before dumping it for a 2 speakers amp set up. to be honest, with a half decent amps you'll get much louder music at a better sound quality than having just a HU.
the rear speakers(behind seat) added more bass but it's nothing compare to the amp + decent speaker up front
i agree with most of you guys, a good front speaker, hu and possibility an amps will be more than enough
