Newbie Question: Does removing the factory head unit disable the keyless entry?

I just got an '02 S2k on Sat, and was curious if I would disable my keyless entry by removing the factory head unit. I thought I heard that somewhere. Thanks!

First welcome to the world of Sssssss. I have a 02 and have changed the HU and the keyless entry still works just fine!

I didn't encounter any issues like that either.

It will disable your controls next to the steering wheel though.

this is a problem i have only found with civic's. i belive it is something like 94's to 96's or something. you have to keep the factory radio in the car inside the dash with power to it so that you can keep your factory keyless working.
