think i found a JL 250 mono sub for around $100.00

would this one be able to push my sub and give me room to grow if say i go for an alpha sonic 12 inch down the road?

other option would be a JL 500 that i think i could get for around $250.00

or i keep with the Alpine theme and get either a mrd-300 from e-bay for around $150.00 or an mrd-500 for around 200 - i think if i stay with alpine i need a special something to connect my head unit to the amps so i can control them from the head

thoughts please

Well I'd say Steve if your going to upgrade to the Alphasonic I would get the 500 watts mono. You'll be better off having more than not enough. You can always turn the gains down but trying to suck every last drop of power out of an amp is way harder.

If you stick with the Alpine theme get the 500 because you like it bassy.

Those are my thoughts. But you really need to decide which way you want this to go, sound wise.

 

with John. If you want more your going to need more power. If your thinking about the Alpha you will need 500 watts in my opinion.
