Pic Request: Spare Tire "wedges"
I've finally reached my limit on patience and need pics so i can understand something.
I have an amp and some MDF cut to perfectly fit in the spare tire. I've attempted about 8 different ways/modifications to install/remove the entire thing and still use the stock spare tie-down bolt. I've tried passing the bolt through the board, i've tried lifting the board, etc, but there is just not enough room physically for me to turn that screw and have the amp in there. I am oh so very close, but my hand is probably 1/2" too thick to work.
So, I am begging for someone to post pics of the "wedge" system used to hold the spare in place so i can chuck this stupid tie down bolt.
Its mentioned in this thread:
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...=0&#entry125962
but the pics are gone and there appear to be no other pics of spare tire wedges on the entire board, i've been searching for days.......
Anyone have pics that can help me? It would be GREATLY appreciated.

Its just a piece of wood screw to the end of the panel the butts up against the stock strut bar. Its just a pressure fit.
You should just get a different bolt. When I installed my board I just went to the hardware store and bought a new bolt and just used a socket to put it in.

I can't understand what you are saying in the first part. By panel do you mean body of the car?
I'm considering a different bolt as a last resort but it would really suck to have to carry around a socket/wrench in the car at all times.

heh no biggie.
I would still just prefer to see the pics cdelena posted up in the link I provided. Hopefully someone saved them or took some of their own so I can see how this wedge thing works.
