Polk EX3560 Component System Install Help!!!
Gantra,
Your welcome for the help.
I considered using some adhesive, but I figured I'd test it for a week before doing so (didn't have anything good to use). However, after a week or so, I determined the fit was good. I had no rattles or other problems. So I left it as is.
Regarding wiring, sodering is always best, but I used wire bullets (if that's what they're called). Simply crimp one wire into the male end. Crimp the other wire into the female end, and plug the two together. My recommendation, use anything you want to use to connect your wires. The difference between all types of wire connectors is extremely negligible. Just do something other than merely pigtailing them together and slapping electrical tape over.
I plan on purchasing some speaker baffles to protect against water, however, after 10 months time (about 12,000 miles), there's no water spots on the speakers. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
All in all, take your time. I probably spent 3-4 hours getting the tweeters installed. But it's worth it.
Extra info: I did attach the Polk screens onto the tweeters. Also, I disconnected the wires from the "splitter". Attached only one set to the crossover, then from the crossover to both the 6.5's and the tweeters, separately.
I'll try to get ahold of a digi-camera this weekend to take some photos (can't promise, but I'll try).
