You guys who live in the warm places can use suction cups. Try licking them when it's -30*C and see how long they stick.

I made the bracket myself - there is a thread out there on where I got the idea from. I do not have the specs and I do not make them, but it wasn't that tough to do. I am electronically inclined, but not a good metal worker and mine still turned out well and I still use it.

Willie, i'm guessing you use the tongue technique?


actually, mine generally work great for weeks on end, but when we get a huge jump in humidity and heat that pitches into a cold dry spell, mine generally show signs of fading.

i had my local store order me a dozen spares -- so if they really get bad i just pull another pair out of the secret compartment...

If I have to relocate the bracket (after washing the inside of the windshield) I will lick the tip of my finger and use that to moisten the suction cup. The less moisture the better it seems to work, but there needs to be some.
