Pull the radio door cover (4 or 5 prongs, 2 on the top corner and 3 across the bottom). Unscrew the four screws holding the deck in place. Pull out the deck, unplug the vehicle wiring harness from the deck.

very straight forward... the hard part is pulling off the cover/vents

TIP: I used a pick to grab the top section of the cover (through the vents) and it came out easily

Very easy to do. Follow the steps above and you'll have it out no problem

i've been trying to keep up also. i've been reading for hours and instructions i've come across are ap1 I think (lucidauto is down for past 3 weeks on instructions).

i have an 07 s2k. now when they mean console, does that mean the surround area of the stick shift? or console means the air vent? i guess console is not the flip up door, right? I couldn't see pictures what console equates to.

one problem i see before i start tugging is that my 07 has a passenger belt light on the center air vent. has anyone pulled that out and see if there is enough slack for the wires to power the light?

i'm still confused what folks mean by console

The plastic piece with the central air vents and the cover door is all that needs to be pulled off to access the screws.

Yes the console means the piece around your shift boot etc. It's all 1 piece back to the compartment. This will need to be removed in order to remove the radio surround easily.

I believe you will be fine on the light, although some searching here might bring up definitive proof.
