Ok, so as of right now I have take out an alpine 7894 headunit, focal 165v2 components and an alpine MRV-F540 amp from my old civic (sold). I'm having a hard time deciding on what I want to do in my S.
I plan on putting the headunit in assisted by the DCI dash control interface (purchased) and the Focal components. Now I'm not sure if I should add a sub and have everything powered by the Alpine amp or sell the amp and get something smaller to fit in the compartment to the left of the spare. If so which amp?
I want to keep as much space as possible in my car and I'm not big into car audio. I just want a better sound than stock. Something that when the top is down I can still hear the tunes. I usually listen to rock/ classic rock, big band, and jazz.
I know questions like this have been asked a lot but I'm just uncertain of what I want to do. Some advice please. Thanks

 

Sell the amp and get a JL 300/4 because it will fit in that space and has plenty of power. Then a JL stealth box in the tire well will give you the added bass you will need for top down driving. It can be easily removed for added trunk space as well.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but the title seemed appropriate for my question. I want to swat out the speakers for some Infinity Kappa 60.5 or Perfects. Does it make sense if I just keep the stock deck, or will the stock not have enough power for the speakers and I'm just wasting my money upgrading speakers w/o upgrading the deck? Thanks!

 

It would be a waste without upgrading your deck.

 

how much is a JL stealth box? / possible place to buy it? I know the localTweeter store carries JL, but they seem to be overpriced IMO.
