Default Stock radio code

Hi,
My stock radio/cd player quit loading CD's. Looking for a stock unit for my 2005 car. I was wondering if there's any way to retrieve a code from a unit like this without one from Honda or anyone else. Thanks for your advice!

Have you taken the unit out of the dash yet? The code is often handwritten on the unit itself somewhere. It also might be handwritten somewhere in your owners manual too if you are lucky. Those are both heavily reliant on previous techs/owners though.

Other than that, there is no way other than getting it from Honda.

Thanks, but I was wondering about a replacement unit from an e-bay seller that comes with no code. But I can get in from Honda you say? I have code on my non working current unit.
Thanks!

You have to have the VIN to get the code if I remember correctly. So if the seller didn't provide the code or the VIN then you are probably out of luck. If you can get the VIN that it came from then Honda should be able to give you the code.

The code is marked on the head unit. Usually on the top if the radio

Hi,
Thanks guys. I checked with a local Honda dealer. I was expecting a big hassle, but the parts guy said,"just bring the unit in and we can pull it up for you". So it looks pretty straightforward!
Thanks for your help!

The code may be in any of these places, but they don't come from the factory that
way. Can't remember in an s2000, but the code is often supplied on stickers that the
dealer can put in the manual, on the radio door, or not at all.
There are often OEM radios for sale, with code, in the "marketplace" section here.

Usually someone you buy the radio from will provide you with the code. Just find one with the code.
