Default Suggestions on system

im getting an s2000 soon and would like suggestions on system. i have now 2 12" infinity reference subs, an mtx 4001 mono amp and an xtreme 600 watt 4 channel. im thinking of putting the 2 amps in the s2000 and getting a 10 inch for the trunk. suggestions on subs? i dont want the trunk to rattle at all but would like some decent bump. ive seen pics with a sub on the right side. is this easy to do? i neet to still have room in the trunk. Also, will aftermarket 6.5"s in the door be sufficient with the xtreme amp or should i get those s-pod thingys? please give suggestions on systems with my amps. Thanks
I also have an alpine 9081 deck or something like that. should i keep or upgrade. for some reason it doesnt play all my cds very well even though a pos clarion i had prior to it did.

The subwoofer you want will depend on your budget, taste in sound, etc. There are many subwoofers out there that will work. Take a look at any of these guy's s2000. Many of them have different subwoofers, yet they all work for their applications.

As for the subwoofer on the side, you'll have to ask someone else about that. I forgot where they get their enclosures from, but someone is bound to know!

Btw, if you already have the 2 12" infininity, why not use one of them? Or do you want to try something else?

hey man,

you can do a custom mount in the sides of the boot, your car audio installer should be able to whip up something. Failing that i believe that some people on this forum found some nice small neat sub boxes for 10 inch subs which fit nicely into the sides of the boot. You could sacrifice the tool kit, take that out, and get the sub mounted on a board and put down at the bottom of the boot.

I'm running soundstream tarantula's pushing out 150W rms, and its plenty of sound. if your sub over powers the speakers you can always set the sub down a notch. if you have really good side speakers then the s pods are not necessary because you still get a shitload of sound. Get component splits so you get the speaker and the tweeter. The tweeter mounts very nicely just next to the speaker in the door.

Stuff the deck, if you can buy a new one. You can go another alpine, (if you go alpine make sure u get a cda-9853 or higher as it has Digital timing alignment on it), or a pioneer dehp80 is good, kenwood xxv-01d etc.

Because you're a sleeze.

The side of the trunk enclosure is from a guy named William Laurent (wlaurent here on s2ki).

Check his site at
http://www.darksidesubs.com/

I think the passenger side enclosure is being redesigned to give it some more volume so that it can better be used with a 10" sub. The original design was really more suited to an 8".
