Tactile Transducer
If am looking down a new route for a little bass without the usual mass and weight. I ran across this inducer component sub from Rockford Fosgate, the IBeam IB-200. Its small enough to mount under the seat and I was just curious if anyone had any firsthand experiences. I am familiar with transducer speakers in a home environment where they vibrate the floors or walls to create sound. I have just never seen an automotive application.
I am not saying I am going to buy one right now, just researching. It says it 250 RMS and only 6-15/16"W x 2"H x 4-5/16"D. Also a range of 20-800 hz. It sounds good on paper, but how is it in reality? Thanks ahead of time.

This looks like a repackaged "bass shaker" similar to what Aura makes. A few owners around here have installed them successfully, but opinions are mixed. I tried a pair briefly in the seat back pockets of my S but did not care for the vibrating sensation. Here is a link and two threads you might find helpful.

Thanks for the links aphex.
I did some more research on other sites and It seems that most people love these things, but only if you use them for their intended purpose. They do not replace your sub, they just provide the vibrations you can get from large 10"s and up, but you don't have to deal with the excessive noise and won't shake cars around you or rattle your trunk.
I think maybe if you have some kappa perfects in the door, and I put some in my roll hoops also, then put a transducer under your seat, you can get that pleasing low frequency vibration without the annoying rattles and not even use sub.
