it allows for very rapid bulk tagging, especially if you've used consistent file naming.

That program that I posted a link to will also rename your files based on your tags, if I recall correctly - and will even compare the tags VS the file name. So matter what, you should be able to us it to sync up the tags and the files names - no matter which any of your players will show.

No beg ware, cripple ware, etc - just free software. Like the ripper and Lame encoder that were also mentioned.
