Yes I have them up front as well. I love them. They have a very nice sound to them. The SPX series is the highest you can get from Alpine for the regular person. Other than that you have to step up to the F1 Status series and then your talking hugh money

There Alpine SPX-137a's, and yeah I had to cut a very little bit of metal to get them to fit but not much. It was a whole bunch of measuring (like 43 times) cut once kind of thing

This is why I asked about a template. I really don't want to get into cutting metal. I was hoping to find the "unskilled guys" secret location of marking the speaker hole, cutting, then "easily" popping in the speaker.

As far as the kind of sound I'm looking for...most of you "Electronic Junkies" will probably laugh...but I actually like the sound of my stock system. Keep in mind however...this comment is coming from a guy who also owns a 1994 Toyota Pickup equipped with two 4" paper speakers in the front dash. They buss, hiss, distort any type of sound other than "Talk" radio. So, to me, the factory system in my S2K sounds GREAT!

I enjoy just about any type of music. I'm really not looking for the "perfect" or "top-of-the-line" speaker + HU combo. The most important thing to me right now is hearing the sound with the top down. I like the S-pod idea, but I would hate for a vandal or thief to damage or rip them off. I figure behind the seat should be stealthy and offer more volume for top down cruising. I also read on the forum that the 04 headunits have a rear speaker connection on the "HU" making hookup easy.

I guess what I am hoping to find is an easy, D.I.Y., drop in speaker that would add more volume for top down cruising. Right now, I'm not planning to hook up an amp or cross overs. But, I am really impressed with your system. I bet if I heard it, I would really find out what I was missing...

Just use a piece of cardboard the same shape as the panel If you have the speakers already just play around till you find a good spot.

Yeah its a very in depth system. It sounds amazing... but honestly it better for the time and money I've put into it If it didn't I'd cry.
