That is what I was afraid of.

I can only assume that you listen with the volume louder than I do, or maybe I want to drown out the wind/road noise more than you. I use volume compensation with the top up all the time. I actually have it set to adjust volume "the right amount" with the top up and I have to do a few manual adjustments (but fewer of them) if the top is down.

[B]Now the $64,000 question, would the new "combo-button" interfere with the existing combo-button operations?

Since my finger is only 2 inches from the volume control, I'll save my $20 and manually adjust the volume if need be . And I don't need my radio to know if my top is up or down yet, maybe I'll understand after I get a DCI.
How about the bass/treble controls for $10? I like that feature much better.

It's limited to only 100,000 write cycles, so if you put your top up and down 5 times a day, every day, it would wear out in 27 years. I'll make sure to change my email address by then so you can't return it for a warranty repair.

Would you add this functionality for the Sony HU too? I might be willing to pay $20 to have my Sony DCI re-flashed.

Keep us posted as to what you plan to do. I will make a decision once you finalize the "new" DCI.
