unibody achieve strength with thin sheet metal by folding and geometry, much like a orgami/paper folding. you can't just crumble a sheet of folded a4 and have it return to orginal glory without weakening something.(or worst, cutting it and pasting it back)

some idoit did the samething with a JDM RHD front clip in H-t.com, the front end was pointing off center after just couple of months of driving.
