Default What to add next to stereo?

I'll give you my thoughts, components, and preferences and I would love feedback on what to do next to my car stereo.

I have installed Sony 1631s on the doors and it was AMAZING the difference!!!! Wow!!! Anyways... I am looking to make my system louder overall. I ONLY listen to cds and mp3s of mostly trance which should be loud but it does not peak that high. (in fact I have not programmed in a radio station since I got the car in Dec '99.) I am not willing to put a subwoofer in the car unless it would fit under my seat. I need the trunk space and the cost is just to high. I was thinking maybe rear speakers (dunno, kinda iffy's bout it, I would LOVE to hear them in person) or an amp (not totally sure what diff it would make) I would be willing to change out the stock head for something else, an mp3 player would be great since I don't have a cd changer and my songs are 120min a piece

Thoughts comments or suggestions?

I just finished putting the 2nd set of 1631s in my ladies car, WOW!

A JVC SH99 would make a nice addition - great MP3 support, reasonably powerful built-in amp, F/R&sub pre-outs, and it looks sweet... If you want more sound in your cabin, rear speakers are really your best bet (matched to a nice set of components, but you already bought your 1631s, and they work just fine). I may be off base, but I'd think that trance music would be tailor made for bass shakers too - you can really 'feel' the music...

Get a amp that fits under your seat. That should give you some volume.

For some of it, yes. Mostly not though, just a constant bass that makes hearing everything else impossible

Installed Sony 1631s in my doors last week, helped a lot. Lucid's rear panel speaker kit due tomorrow, will install Friday. Will let you know how that works out.
